Port Progress

You’ve heard about many of these projects before, but progress at the Port moves quickly, and there’s already more to share. Here’s the latest on projects currently moving forward.

IHTF Stormwater Improvements

Work continues to move forward at the Intermodal Handling & Transfer Facility. As part of the Port’s ongoing efforts to protect Port Angeles Harbor, improvements to the Log Yard will help reduce industrial stormwater runoff, improve drainage, and support long-term infrastructure maintenance.

The log ramp concrete slab, retaining wall, and final site grading are now complete. The first stormwater treatment tank has been poured, with the second scheduled for early September. Major paving activities are also planned for mid-to-late September, bringing this important project another step closer to completion.

Taxiway A

Exciting work continues on the Taxiway A Rehabilitation project at William R. Fairchild International Airport. Major paving operations have been completed, with crews now preparing the next phase for additional paving in early September. The project remains on schedule and will improve the safety and reliability of the airfield through pavement rehabilitation, upgraded LED lighting, and improved signage.

Hangar E

Construction continues to take shape on the new Hangar E at William R. Fairchild International Airport. The 17,500-square-foot, four-bay aircraft hangar is part of the Port’s ongoing airport expansion to help meet growing demand for aircraft storage. Site development is progressing, with underground plumbing underway and crews forming concrete foundations and installing reinforcing steel. Rebar installation and inspections for the building slab have been completed, with concrete placement coming up next as the project continues to move forward.
