Port Progress
As the leaves change and autumn settles in, progress continues across the Port. From infrastructure improvements to projects reaching key milestones, there’s plenty taking shape this season. Here’s a look at the latest updates.
IHTF Stormwater Improvements
Progress continues on the Intermodal Handling & Transfer Facility. Crews are focused on work at the Marine Drive entrance as the project nears completion. Paving is targeted for completion by the end of October, marking another important milestone in the Port’s efforts to improve site drainage, manage industrial stormwater, and protect Port Angeles Harbor.

Taxiway A
The Taxiway A Rehabilitation project at William R. Fairchild International Airport is in its final stages. With pavement improvements and sealant work complete, crews are preparing for final pavement markings during the last week of October. After the markings, the project will be complete, delivering improved safety, visibility, and long-term reliability for the airfield.

Hangar E
Construction continues to move forward on the new Hangar E at William R. Fairchild International Airport. Primary building erection is now complete, with crews installing secondary building components as the 17,500-square-foot, four-bay aircraft hangar takes shape. Taxilane paving is scheduled for the end of October, marking another significant milestone in the project and the Port’s ongoing efforts to expand aircraft storage capacity.

Port Celebrates Caleb McMahon’s Next Chapter with Clallam County EDC
While we will miss having Chief Commercial Officer Caleb McMahon on the Port team, we are excited to see him take on a new leadership role as Executive Director of the Clallam County Economic Development Council (CCEDC) beginning January 1, 2027.
Caleb has served the Port for more than five years, most recently overseeing economic and business development, real estate, marketing, and community and public relations. During his tenure, he has helped advance initiatives across maritime industries, aerospace and advanced manufacturing, commercial real estate, business recruitment and expansion, and regional partnerships.
As a key partner in advancing economic development throughout Clallam County, CCEDC shares many of the Port’s goals for building a strong, resilient regional economy. We are grateful for Caleb’s leadership and contributions to the Port and look forward to continuing to work alongside him and CCEDC to create new opportunities for our community.
Congratulations, Caleb, on this exciting next chapter!
